Bethe Hagens
I first encountered Bethe Hagens work by following a reference in Parabola Magazine to her article "Geometric Consciousness and the Feminine Divine"
Around the time that I read this article, I was also playing with Geogami - folding paper into 3-D geometric shapes. Bethe describes the nature of geometry in all things from a perspective that is personal, beautiful, aesthetic and scientific. Her works have definitely inspired me to pursue my dream of building the Neo Geo Lotus.

Alex Grey
In 2005, I came across the Sacred Mirrors book at a local book shop. As I flipped through the well worn pages I immediately recognized that this was the artist who had done the cover work on Tool's La-Ta-Ra-Lus album (one of the most brilliant albums every released). I was simply amazed by the prints of his works and the accompanying narrative. I did a web search for Alex Grey and found CoSM. When I realized there was a place where the original works could be experienced in person, I made a heart wish - saying that if for any reason I were ever in New York, I would visit CoSM - even if I did nothing else. Surprisingly, I found myself on the way to New York within a few months (for a work-related benefit). To me, this was a pilgrimage. I went to CoSM for the Full Moon meditation (in May 2006). For some time, I have felt as though individuals interact through reflection - language and communication is a reflection of what is said and what is heard. This is language not just in terms of words, but also in terms of body language, music, art. We interpret our experience and then send it into the world seeking a reflection - this is how we relate to one another. In the case of Alex Grey's work, I was very moved and inspired by his vision of what is inside all of us. I appreciate his courage in sharing these reflections with the world. The Boddhisatva is one who, understanding the true nature of the world, promises to remain until all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness, until all are free of sorrow and the causes of sorrow, until all are never separated from true happiness - which is sorrowless - and until all live in equanimity, without too much attachment or too much aversion and live believing in the equality of all that lives. I believe the Sacred Mirrors are formed to a similar purpose and I am very grateful for such a reflection.
